  • Do you work with St. Olaf and Carleton students?

Yes! College student mental health is one of my areas of specialization, and I work with students from colleges and universities throughout Minnesota and beyond. Because my office is located in downtown Northfield, I regularly work with students from both St. Olaf College and Carleton College, either in person or through online therapy.

I also provide online therapy to college students attending schools in other states where I am authorized to practice through PSYPACT.

When helpful and with your permission, I can collaborate with your college or university to support your needs. This may include helping with documentation for academic accommodations, coordinating with campus counseling or accessibility services, or connecting with the Dean of Students office and other campus resources.

College can bring a unique mix of academic pressure, relationships, identity development, independence, and mental health challenges. My goal is to provide a space outside of the college where you can feel genuinely known and supported while also helping you connect with resources on campus when those resources would be useful.

  • Do you offer ADHD testing or assessment for adults?

Yes! I provide comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults, with appointments available either in person at my office in downtown Northfield, Minnesota, or online through telehealth.

I work with adults who have wondered whether ADHD might help explain longstanding difficulties with attention, organization, executive functioning, motivation, or other areas of daily life.

The assessment process includes questionnaires and assessment measures that you complete ahead of time, followed by an in-depth assessment appointment where we explore your experiences, history, strengths, and challenges. We then meet for a feedback session to discuss the results, whether an ADHD diagnosis is appropriate, and recommendations for moving forward.

My goal is for the assessment process to be more than simply determining whether you meet criteria for ADHD. I want you to leave with a better understanding of yourself and practical information that can help you decide what supports may be useful going forward.

  • Do you offer OCD therapy and ERP?

Yes! I specialize in working with people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and offer therapy both in person at my downtown Northfield, Minnesota office and online through telehealth.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is an important part of effective OCD treatment and something I incorporate into my work. I approach ERP collaboratively, with an emphasis on your agency and readiness. You remain in control of what you choose to work on and at what pace, while I help you understand OCD patterns, recognize compulsions, and gradually build confidence in responding differently to intrusive thoughts and uncomfortable feelings.

I also believe that OCD treatment is about more than reducing symptoms. Our work can include addressing the shame, anxiety, self-doubt, and other experiences that often accompany OCD, while making space for you as a whole person rather than defining you by a diagnosis.

  • Do you offer online therapy outside of Minnesota?

Yes! In addition to in-person therapy at my office in downtown Northfield, Minnesota, I offer online therapy through secure telehealth. As a PSYPACT-authorized psychologist, I am able to provide telehealth services to clients in most states across the country.

Online therapy can be a great option if you live outside the Northfield area, attend college in another state, travel frequently, or simply prefer the convenience and comfort of meeting virtually.

Because the states participating in PSYPACT can change over time, please reach out if you’re wondering whether I’m able to work with you where you live. I’m happy to help you determine whether telehealth is an option.

  • What ages do you work with?

I work primarily with adults, college students, and adolescents. My approach is individualized to each person’s developmental stage, needs, and goals, with an emphasis on creating a space where clients feel respected, understood, and actively involved in their own therapy.

For adolescents, I value building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship while also collaborating with parents or caregivers when appropriate. I work to balance family involvement with the privacy and autonomy that are important for meaningful therapy, particularly as teens grow toward greater independence.

If you’re wondering whether I might be a good fit for you or your teenager, you’re welcome to reach out for a free consultation so we can talk briefly about what you’re looking for.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I am primarily an out-of-network provider and do not bill most insurance plans directly. Clients typically pay for services at the time of their appointment, and I provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Many insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits, but coverage varies considerably from one plan to another. I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask about your benefits for outpatient mental health services with an out-of-network psychologist.

I’m also happy to provide the billing codes I use so you can check your specific benefits before scheduling.
